Irreversible Pulpitis Treated Using Root Canal

Overview:

When swelling and other symptoms, such as pain in your teeth, are severe, irreversible pulpitis develops, and the pulp gets damaged.

Irreversible pulpitis can progress to a periapical abscess, which is a kind of infection. This infection starts in the root of the tooth, causing a pus pocket to form. This infection can spread to other body regions, including the sinuses, jaw, and brain, if not treated.

Here a root canal treatment is very effective to get rid of this complication.

The enamel and dentin layers of a healthy tooth protect the pulp from infection. Pulpitis develops when these protective layers are destroyed, enabling germs to enter the pulp and cause swelling. Because the pulp is confined within the tooth's walls, the swelling creates pressure, discomfort, and infection.
